Apart from covering up and living indoors all summer can anyone recommend a good non deet natural insect repellent and does eating anything in your diet help you stop being bitten? I heard garlic can help.

I eat loads of garlic and have found that the mozzies still bite me but for some reason the bites aren't as itchy! Hard to say whether there really is a connection or I'm maybe building up resistance. Another thing you might want to look into is anti-mozzie wristbands, haven't tried them myself though.

Hmm, yes I know what you mean. Problem is garlic and my tango dancing don't mix very well!

Pure lavender essential oil is good, and natural (though you should check with a doctor before using any essential oils if you are pregnant or have any health issues)

Maybe garlic works if you rub it on yourself, but eating garlic doesnt seem to work at all. I even tried some garlic capsules(odorless!) as they claimed to help against mozzies..no joy!

I'm not sure if I heard this correctly at a party but someone did mention rubbing your skin with the inside of banana peel.
